Who Is The Founder Of Awuraa?

My name is Yann Ziolkowski, a French entrepreneur living in Ghana since 2021. My vision for investing in Africa is simple: the natural wealth produced by African soil should not be wasted or exported without transformation. It should be transformed locally to reduce waste, create added value, and create opportunities for local communities and future generations.

One day, while eating banku with okra stew, something caught my attention: the naturally slippery texture of okra. That "slimy" feel most people notice in food immediately made me think differently: what if this property could be amazing for hair?

I started testing, learning, and experimenting with okra, and the results surprised me: less breakage, more slip, and a much gentler detangling experience. That's how the idea for this brand was born — turning an everyday natural ingredient into a true hair care experience.
